Snarf-It up for sale
p2p news / p2pnet: A little more than two years ago a new BT dump-site called Snarf-It was heralded.
Was it Suprnova Reborn?
It went online, only to vanish for a while. However, last December, “After extensive recoding we are pleased to announce that Snarf-It.org is back online with over 100,000 torrents available, a clean easy user interface and off course the little blue furball,” said the Snarf-It admin. “If you do nothing else today have a look at what we have done with the place.”
Looking good but now, “Domain for Sale,” says snarf-it.org. “The snarf-it.com and snarf-it.net domains have just been put onsale by ourselves, if you are interested in purchasing the domain for your site, advertising or whatever please bid in the Sedo auction or contact admin@snarf-it.”
Does this have sinister implications, especially bearing in mind ongoing corporate movie industry efforts to crush any and all BitTorrent sites it doesn’t have a piece of?
Not, says Slyck’s Nick Parker.
Snarf-It is now run by Target who told him, “This isn’t a big mystery, the domains are not connected with the indexing site, which is Snarf-It.org, and are simply surplus to our requirements. The name is memorable and will be attractive to many people, we’ve had a lot of interest.”
In fact, “We have just launched a beta of our news site, Snag-It, which we intend to develop along with other plans we currently have in the pipeline. Watch this space for news, we’re growing,” said Target.
“We went on to ask what steps he had put in place to protect himself from legal action from the combined forces of the MPAA and the RIAA,” said Slyck. “Target allowed himself to smile for the second time saying, ‘As I told you, we’re growing and have some great plans for the future. We’re certainly not retreating’.”
