In this particular instance, Asperger's Syndrome has figured prominently in the packagiing and promotion of "The Bram Story." In fact, Mr. Cohen has been the source for most of the information about his condition. He attributes his success in creating and implementing the Bit Torrent protocol partially to the symptoms and effects of the condition. Thus, it is indeed very relevant and not just gratuitous gossip.

I know that, but the protocol is already in open source projects such as Azureus, whats to stop them from developing a branch protocol, or use the ideas to create a new protocol.

Sean Whoever created Napster, then he gave his software to the corporations, the same thing was said then, but what happened in the end, nothing.

i'm not sure why i read p2pnet at all. what is this tasteless commentary on aspergers?? if any of you schleps were actual engineers you'd be able to appreciate bram's genius. i am still enamored by what bittorrent does and why it does it so well. its mind boggling. and its free?? (hello??) as far as i can tell, bittorrent is still open source. bram agreed remove links from his search engin. in exchange he stays out of jail. you jackasses should go write your own P2P networking protocols and put your own necks on the line.. oh wait, i forgot you all suck at life

I really don't want to read about someone's [alleged] medical conditions, whether as a [proported] explanation for changes in their companies or as an aside to an otherwise interesting article.

Media should deal with public issues & events, not try to play forensic psychologists (unless they have the credentials to do so, and only when it's really related to the main issue/event of the story).

Put any credentials on the table or leave out the irrelavent stuff, OK?

At least Bram (and yourself) don't (?) have Klinefelter's Syndrome. I was diagnosed with it nearly 35 years ago. Nothing like have something from over 3 decades ago coming back to figurativey bite one in the rump.

I don't get how this makes a difference.

I thought the bittorrent protocol was an open protocol, so if they develop something new then it will be something new, but the open source programmers can develop their own free software.

Don't see how much changes.
