I'm Su's partner, Dave Woodley.

You obviously haven't read our site fully and (thanks to the tabloid trash you read) are blissfully unaware of the postcode lottery that exists when applying for unapproved drugs on the NHS.

The NHS will NOT supply Su with Avastin. A few others have been successful in some areas and situations, she (like the vast majority) was not. She has limited time left and cannot spend months appealing against local authority decisions.

The vast majority of people are unsuccessful. The media chooses to report the successful ones (and of course the Mirror would scream from the rooftops if their 'campaign' managed to get it for someone). The vast majority of people are told "sorry, no" and they don't appeal or talk to the press.

Article from the Telegraph from last year:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/07/31/nhs131.xml

Today's Times:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,589-2197275,00.html

Story about Mum who won the right to receive the drug:
http://www.herts24.co.uk/content/crow/news/story.aspx?brand=ROYWestOnline&category=News&tBrand=herts24&tCategory=newsroynew&itemid=WEED11%20May%202006%2010%3A55%3A11%3A300

Note how the last one says she only received it due to her 'exceptional circumstances'. We do not have 'exceptional circumstances'. Su is a mum, but so are the majority of cancer sufferers. We're nothing exceptional.

The only way she could get it on the NHS was to take part in a clinical trial. However, she could have been placed in a 'control group' and receive a placebo only. She would not have known whether she was being given the Avastin or the placebo.

Get your facts straight before you start accusing people, or I'll track you down and issue a libel writ on you. Comments like yours severely damage our cause by placing doubt in people's minds. I sincerely hope nothing like this happens to you or anyone in your family, because there are always a multitude of tabloid-reading dopes that are all-too-willing to express their poorly-informed views.

It is a scam, a bold faced scam I'll grant you, but a scam none the less. NHS has paid for Avastrin for several people over the last year. In fact the Daily Mirror forced the NHS to do so in March. They do no ask for help with the NHS, they ask for money, plain and simple. I'll chip in 100 quid reward to the indivual that puts these bold face liars out of business.

I hope, after reading the replies to your thoughtless and groundless comment, you're feeling suitably ashamed of yourself.

I came across this story about a week ago and have been following Su's progress and the appeal closely ever since and I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, it's genuine.

Thank goodness that the vast majority of people out there are caring and sympathetic towards the suffering of others and not cynical, arrogant arseholes like you.

I found out about this before this article was posted. I had doubts but checked out their school. I spoke to the secretary and she informed me that as well as the story being true, they are busy fund-raising for Su.

Why not check your facts before bandying your crappy comments around? Having said that, you don't strike me as being a very charitable person anyway so this is probably falling on deaf ears.

When you (or someone you know) becomes that "1 in 3", I sincerely hope that no one is as negative as you.

FFS why do pricks like this have to even put finger to keyboard?

Are you completely incapable of reading, or understanding a few simple facts?

Just because it's on the web asking for help doesn't make it a scam. The site has been confirmed by 419eater.com, one of the webs most trusted anti-scam sites as being genuine, and if you still don't believe them there is information there to get into contact with people that can verify the situation, such as Su's doctor, the teacher's at Dave's school etc..

This is serious, and a distater for the family... Don't start throwing the punches accusing of scam's without reading, and if you still don't believe, just phone them and confirm it for yourself...

If you're so sure it's a scam, contact 419eater.com. contact P2Pnet, contact the school, the hospital, I'm pretty damn sure they'd love to shove your scam theory up your arse..

Please help Dave and Su if you can. If you have any doubts at all about the story, just visit the website. And then send them a few quid/dollars/Euros. Every little helps them!
