The so called “Settlement Center” is nothing but a collection agency with instructions that nothing short of money is acceptable. The **AA’s are using financial ruin as a club to extort money from folks that even if they were guilty, would not really fit the crime. Since they themselves made no money on anything, they can’t be charged with profiteering. The best the **AA’s can come up with was an alteration of the defination to read “we didn’t get paid”.

Well, they don’t get paid on second hand sales. They don’t get paid on gifts where someone gives a gift of music. Why is that any different than someone downloading for private use?

At no point in this farce of sue’em all is the victim given any sort of break unless they come to the decision that sueing the intended victim will backlash seriously on them. Offers such as Mrs. Andersen’s of giving them the computer to discover the truth has had no bearing on the situtation. Had they taken the offer when first made none of her expenses she has had to put out to date would have occured.
