DT, MS, IPTV
p2p news / p2pnet: Germany’s Deutsche Telekom AG will use Microsoft for its IPTV (Internet Protocol TV), slated for 10 German cities, starting this summer.
The deal means DT will deliver the TV and "complementary interactive services and a range of entertainment products, over its VDSL broadband networks," says Marketwatch.
"The agreement reached with Deutsche Telekom is Microsoft’s largest IPTV contract in Europe to date and its second largest worldwide."
Thirteen telecommunications groups have announced plans to deploy video broadband services using the Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software “including 10 carriers that have announced plans for commercial roll outs and three – Bell South, Bell Canada and Reliance Infocomm – that are undergoing trials,” says the Times Online.
