FBI New York email troubles

p2p news / p2pnet: The FBI’s New York office is somewhat cash-strapped, says Mark Mershon, the assistant director in charge, there.

"As ridiculous as this might sound, we have real money issues right now, and the government is reluctant to give all agents and analysts dot-gov accounts," Mershon stated, "when asked about the gap at a New York Daily News editorial board meeting," says CNN.

"We just don’t have the money, and that is an endless stream of complaints that come from the field."

Christine Monaco, a spokeswoman for the FBI in New York, said all FBI agents can communicate with each other via a secure internal e-mail system, and about 75 percent of the New York office’s employees have " separately funded" outside e-mail accounts.

  1. Reader's Write Says:

E mail budget is the leat of the FBI’s problem at this juncture.

Their (and the politician’s) problem is explaining to the American people how it was that the top brass knew of 9/11 before it occured and did nothing about it, as it publicly surfaced in court this week:

As reported in the press an FBI agent at the Zacarias Moussaoui trial testified that before 9/11/01 he warned the top brass over 70 times that Moussaoui was pilot-trainig to hijack an aircraft.

70 times is a lot of times.

And Bush is not explaining anything.

All odd and shamefull, what American get for security, no?
