Until reading this article, I was under the impression that Muslims were divided into two camps, much as Christians were divided between Catholics and Protestants for so many centuries, where the schism resulted in bloody purges and mutual hatred, each side convinced of his righteousness.

Are we westerners being fed propaganda to make us believe certain things at certain times, according to whatever the powers-that-be feel expedient at the moment?

If things are as the young lady bloger would have us believe, why do we not (as the occupying force, ergo dominating power) insist that all political discourse proscribe the use of the mention of the various sects and restrict dialogs to the single work “Muslim”?

I don’t really understand. If the Sunnis and Shia don’t really care about their differences, why are they killing each other daily? … Hmmm. Maybe it’s the Jews who are doing it.
