p2p news / p2pnet: p2pnet has learned the entertainment cartels, with the MPAA’s MPA up front, are about to ramp up their efforts in Norway, probably using DC++ as their focal point.
Quite a while back, the Norwegian clones were sicced (Hullo, MediaSentry?) onto someone who’d apparently shared Pitbullterje, a local movie, while it was in cinemas.
Months went by without anything happening and then about a week ago, the case suddenly re-surfaced. The shape of things to come?
When we were discussing this with our friend in Norway, we suggested the MPA (Motion Picture Association of America’s Motion Picture Association) will now try to turn simple infringement into a major crime.
It and Big Four record labels are having huge success with this PR scam in North America, thanks to the mainscream media.
“I don’t know if Norwegians in general are more ‘on the barricades’ than Americans,” was the response. “We’re very different as a people. As a whole, there are enough people with guts that we don’t suffer fools gladly.
“The judicial system is very different in Norway. We’re not as litigious. And less likely to be sued in general.”
