New UK anti-file sharing move
p2p news / p2pnet: FAST (Federation Against Software Theft) says it’s going to ferret around in corporate networks to see if they’re being used for "illegal" file sharing.
One wonders if they’ll be working with FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft), another corporate pseudo-cop outfit, or perhaps with Britain’s new unreal anti-pirate police squad.
"The industry organisation will search corporate networks, using its own tracker software, for illegally downloaded software emanating from file sharing activity, which is currently going unnoticed," says MicroScope.
FAST will be using something called Tracker 2 and the story has spokesman John Lovelock saying, "We do not think corporates have enough discipline in their business to stop this [file sharing] happening."

And just how exactly are they going to gain access to these corporate networks? I haven’t met very many net admins that would just say “sure, come on in” if someone asked to have access to their network.

They don’t stand a chance to get on our network.
We have tons of very expensive software protecting our corporate network.
I know cos I installed and cracked them myself!!!!!!

I work for a corporation myself, I monitor the network for any hackers coming in and any spies snooping around to gain any info on our network. If they will try to gain access to our network, I will be able to quickly stomped them out, track down their ips, log everything and bring this into court against them suing them for attempt to enter unauthorized computers, attempt to steal millions of dollars worth of data, invasion of privacy, and attempt to harm the company.
Its quite amazing that these companies think that they are above the law. but in reality NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO WHETHER THE INTENTIONS WERE TO HARM OR TO HELP YOU WILL HAVE TO FACE THE LAW.
