Movies that REALLY stink!
p2p news / p2pnet: Terrible news for Hollywood.
Most of the features released by the Big Six, Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney, stink, really stink. And now Reek-O-Rama has arrived ——- in Japan, at least.
Screenings of The New World, “will be accompanied by a series of smells at a cinema in Japan,” says the BBC.
On the other hand, the Big Six will probably be OK. Fortunately for them, the pongs aren’t keyed to the actual movie, only to certain sequences.
StinkVision is an offshoot of fragrance-emitting machines launched as a service for Japanese homes last year, says the Beeb, adding, “A globe-shaped version of the machine for computer users is also manufactured, which emits fragrances depending on mood.”
Cinemas across Japan will be able to download programmes to control various fragrances for other upcoming films.

Yeah, great idea. Until someone has a major allergic reaction to one or more of the ingredients in one of these fragrances, then sues the cinema and anyone else their lawyers can think of.
