It's not necessarily about what's "natural" or not; I am a 25-yr old female from San Francisco: I am very liberal about sex. But when I was 14 - 17 or 18, I was very uneducated about sex; mostly because my parents didn't teach me about it. If a much older man was attracted to me, and I had something like myspace at the time, I might have fallen for it -- and gotten myself a complex in the meantime.

Whether or not a man "craves sex" is one thing; taking advantage of a person who's not mature enough to understand what that means is another. 18 is set because it's a safe net for maturity. It's about protecting a kid who might not understand what they're doing; not about hindering a full-grown adult sexually.

Consent is something that must include education. Whether or not you're right, this country IS puritanical in its views, and that includes educating our kids. Our kids under 18 simply aren't educated. So it makes sense for this situation.

Thank you though for posting that wanting to have sex with an 8-yr old is unnatural though. It does give your post more meaning than a creepshow. I personally hit puberty when I was 14. 14, in my opinion, is WAY too young to be having sex; I didn't even know what it was, and someone "teaching me" is not a favor; one needs to find these things out on their own in order to feel confident sexually.

How is wanting to have sex with teens pedophilia? The age of consent varies from country to country, and this is considered acceptable in less sexually repressive places, such as Canada, where the age of consent is 14. Of course I don't condone cyberstalking, but most men have sexual desires for young females, whether they admit to it or not. This desire coupled with the fact that the desires are repressed, is what causes these problems. Despite what puritanical, uptight prudes may think, it is normal and natural. Wanting to have sex with 8 year olds is not normal or natural, and is not the same thing.
