Morton at LinuxTag 2006
p2p news / p2pnet: Andrew Morton who, together with Linux creator Linus Torvalds, is coordinating the development of the current Linux kernel 2.6, will be the Kernel Keynote speaker at LinuxTag 2006, slated for May 3 through 6 at the Rhine-Main Halls in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Also on the bill is Ubuntu backer Mark Shuttleworth, says Heise Online.
However, although IBM, Novell and Sun will be there, “Other heavyweights such as Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Red Hat, who put in an appearance at the LinuxTag 2005, will be conspicuous by their absence,” says the story, adding:
“A main theme among the open-source projects in the exhibition will be collaboration software: Visitors will be able to scrutinize a number of free groupware solutions and content management systems.”
