Nzbzone, the options
p2p news / p2pnet: Nzbzone is gone and it’s a "big blow to the usenet community," says fernandose on filesplit. So, "instead of giving you a full page article on a bloated subject which has already been reported I’ll cut straight to the point".
NZBzone, "did an excellent job running and maintaining a powerfull unique site, which not only suceeded a simple purpose of making NZBs free to download, but jamming a whole bunch of features (zipped downloads, cat. structured, NFO reader, IMDB links etc..) which gave us more control and usebility to munipulate the site it our own indviual needs," he says, asking:
"So now that the mother of all free nzb sites are gone, what are the alternatives?
Fernandose did some looking and didn’t come up empty. In fact, he says he found a couple with the potential to, "do very well, with the right care and maintenance".
No 1, NZBMatrix.com
This site has an excellent interface and nearly lives upto the barrier that nzbzone set forall free nzb based sites. Despite its repetative use of Usenext advertising, it will certainly fill those empty cravings. The site has no restrictions and is very fast to browse though (note: the site is still very young). There isan optional account upgrade to VIP status to view extra file information. I have not looked into much of this area of the site, but i believe it is similar to NZBrUS VIP account.
I do believe the site is based on a open source NZB library software NZBtrader. NZBtrader in my opinon is exactly what the usenet community need to reproduce more of these sites at atime like this where MPAA are doing all they can to put a stop to us. Hopefully more people will open more sites and modify the source code to include extra features and faster processing times. Something to look forward too Wink
No 2, NZBsRus.com
Apart from the the fact that NZBsRUS lacks in important areas that I would consider be vital for an nzb site, it does server a good amount of updated NZBs. Even though the past has been rough for NZBsRUS and presented itself more of a business rather than a useful tool to the usenet community. I have seen plans for the new site (not sure when this will be available), but I do know development is underway and this does look promising.
The site’s interface is limited as well [as] relevant information regarding NZBs. I will not going to great detail, but nzbrus is an overall acceptable resource for NZBs.
Meanwhile, "A great combination is binsearch.info+ Newzbin.com simply find the file you want using newzbin and search for it using binsearch. It maybe a lengthy process compared to the suggestions above but it does produce excellent results and is high recommendation from filesplit."
