Hollywood lauds US trade office

p2p news / p2pnet: The health of America’s economy and, hence, the well-being of all Americans, in major part rests on making sure the Big Six Hollywood studios continue to maintain their huge profit bases.

That, in essence, is the thrust of an MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) statement, predicated on the latest the United States Trade Representative Section 301 report.

“The strength of our future economy depends on aggressively fighting theft of our creative works both at home and abroad,” MPAA boss China Dan Glickman declares.

The Big Six studios own the MPAA and, like the Big Four Organized Music cartel, they’re failing in their efforts to continue to operate out-moded 20th century business models in the digital 21st century.

“I am grateful for the leadership and commitment of this Administration and USTR in particular in working every angle in the fight against intellectual property theft,” says Glickman in the statement.

The new US trade rep is Dr Susan C. Schwab, taking over from Rob Portman, a loyal Hollywood friend. Interestingly, Schwab started out as a USTO agricultural trade negotiator and Glickman is the ex-US secretary of agriculture.

Meanwhile, “We [Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney] continue to remain particularly concerned about our dual problems in China – rampant piracy and the restrictions on legitimate products,” says Glickman. “We support USTR’s decision to keep China on the Priority Watch List.

“We [Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney] are especially pleased about USTR’s initiative to conduct a special intensive review of criminal enforcement actions of IPR violations at the provincial level.

“This effort, the first and only of its kind in the world, will enhance other efforts by industry and the U.S. government in this region.”

OMG, what would we do without movies and/or music, we’d be doomed. Production of all things that really matter would be halted. Of course, I am being sarcastic.

Interesting. These greedy whores were the first to jump ship when the Canadian dollar was on its ass. Canada became Hollywood North in an instant saving these Studios millions in production costs. Bush doing their bidding through the DoJ and Trade was an inexpensive and easy purchase, I guess.

The U.S.A. is dying, and there isn’t a damned thing that I can do about it. If there were, I would. The U.S.A. has become the Police States of Amerika. The laws made are mostly for the benefit of those in large (fortune 500) corporations and government officials. ‘We The People’ no longer matter to them except during election time, and the only thing that matters is for them to say or do things to manipulate us into voting to keep them in power. The only interest that the governments and corporations have in us is how much resources they can squeeze out of us.

America has a terminal illness, and that illness is her government and the cartels that run her. This is the same America where it people are forced to pay higher proces for everything and still compete with slave labor. This is the same America where small business are knocked out of the race for profits by policies that benefit only the largest of corporations. Most of the “intellectual property” companies claim to own has been produced by people like you and me.

The people in the P.S.A. are largely at fault bucause most of us allow ourselves to be manipulated into voting for the members of the same corrupt Democratic/Republican party election after election. Most of us feel too helpless in voting for anyone different because there is “little” chance of other candidates
winning. This is called the “lessor of two evils” voting, and it has killed our freedom.

People in the Police States of Amerika will realize too late that candidates of other political parties are much less corrupt that the bought and sold Republican / Democrat party. The reason it will be too late is because of the computer voting machines that will very likely be preprogrammed to select a predetermined winner. Hackers have esposed vulnerablilities in these type of machines, and yet, election officials continue to swich to using them. Voting will made made obsolete. When this happens, the only choice will be an internal uprising (either violent or nonviolent) or the people resigning themselves to a miserable life of slavery and poverty.

The media cartel is largly responsible for the manipulation of people by suggesting to them whom that they should vote for and how they should behave. The Internet is breaking the stranglehold on the hearts and mind of the people and are turning them back into customers and citizens rather than mindless robots which do as suggested. This is the main reason why the cartels are attacking the Internet as it currently exists. The media cartels will use every excuse including piracy, terrorism, and kiddy porn to silence the growing voice of the people.

I believe that the U.S.’s last chance is a new information sharing network that is owned by ‘We The People’ and the next two elections. If we do not get things right, I believe it will be the end of the United States as a super power and most likely as a nation. The only way for us to get things right is to stop depending on the media cartel (and in the near future, it’s infrastructure) and stop voting for republicans/democrats.

    Right on.

Americans are hardly exposed to world opinion but it’s trade representatives are. Being aware, how are these reprerentatives be able to speak to those in other nations without being shameful of the oovertaking of a country like Iraq? Shamed reps will not be very effective as being affective is not possible if the reputation of the USA is a terrible one. Trade will flop as a result. A reason that the big American corporations are failing.

And Bush is doing a heck of a job?
