You're intepreting my comment "Bush like politician" as a politically biased example when in fact it was meant as a reference to coprorate sell-outs, no matter which Party they're from.

me again.

"Bush like politician"

Actually it was the Liberal Heritage Minister Sam Bulte (who was in the pockets of CRIA and other lobbying forces) who wanted to implement draconian copyright laws ... remember the Bulte Report? (how soon we forget)

Whereas Ben Oda has said: "Copyright legislation has to be amended to make [compliant] our copyright laws and ratify the international treaties."

ps: I despise the refor...*ahem* conservative party but could care less who is in power so long as changes to the law aren't anything like how the USA has interpreted the WIPO treaty and nothing like what the CRIA puppet Sam Bulte suggested when she was the Heritage Minister.

Well, as much as I'd like to keep government in a minority position forever, there will come a day when a Bush like politician with a majority will see fit to bring us back to medieval times. Lobbyists are more powerful than ever, now is as good a time as ever to thwart their agenda.

you know I would more excited about this if it had happened sooner. But I guess it wasn't politically expedient to get involved a few years back ... remember those days? The government was seeking submissions on changes to the Copyright Act, CRIA tried dragging 29 p2p users into court ... Martin and the Heritage Minister spouting off crap at the Juno awards. You know, those things that matter but to come out now when the copyright revision process is dead in the water just make me think ... meh.

At last it's happening. The artists no longer need the big studios to put together decent music. They no longer need terrestrial radio to get their songs heard, plus now the audience is world wide instead of however big their record company permits. And finally, they no longer need a physical CD to be sold for fans to buy their music directly from the original artists in lossless format.

So now they have realized that they can make whatever type of music they want, whenever they want, have it heard by billions for free, and keep all of the money they make from sales for themselves.

I hope all the children the RIAA has sued get a good laugh out of this one. I know I am.

"Music fans across Canada and around the world have expressed their support as we repair the bonds between artists and their fans."

Indeed, I have completely stopped consuming music products ever since the Napster fiasco. Their coming out against cartel abuse has given me the urge to become a music fan again, but not until I see change.
