The Power of Trust
p2p news / p2pnet: Once again, apologies for the dearth of posts from p2pnet for the past five days. I got back to Canada last night and I’ll catch up ASAP.
I was in the UK for the We Media forum, among other things. And it was a major eye-opener, although perhaps not quite in the way the organizers and corporate participants had wanted.
Under The Power of Trust, "The We Media Global Forum brings together the trailblazers of the connected society - the thinkers, innovators, investors, executives and activists seeking to tap the potential of digital networks connecting people everywhere," said the site today.
But at the end of the conference, it had become crystal clear the traditional mainstream media bosses, some of them at ceo and executive editor level, are only now just beginning to realise they’re no longer in the physical 1900s when day-old (at the earliest) news came in printed, hard-copy, delivered along paper routes and sold on street corners. Instead, in the digital 21st century, news appears and is disseminated online sometimes minutes after it happens.
Meanwhile, as we all know, the trail had already been blazed. By you. And that’s the way it’ll continue.
Cheers
