Skype sued by Net2Phone
p2p news / p2pnet: eBay’s Skype, already being sued by StreamCast Networks, is now also being sued by IDT Corp’s Net2Phone for alleged infringement of a Net2Phone patent.
The company says Skype’s computer-to-computer Internet telephone service infringes a Net2Phone patent and is demanding a permanent injunction and damages, says Reuters.
"An IDT spokesman said he would not comment beyond the lawsuit and a representative from eBay was not immediately available for comment. IDT bought Net2Phone in February," says the story.
"Each of the various corporate entities formed by Zenstrom, Friss, Bermeister, Dyne, Hemming, Markiles and unknown others are nothing more than a sham in an attempt to wrongfully insulate them from personal liability and to perpetrate a fraud," says the StreamCast complaint.

NOTE: p2pnet is being sued by Sharman Networks and Nikki Hemming, ceo of p2p application Kazaa. “The suit is a little odd, since P2PNet.net is a champion of peer-to-peer file-sharing, which is the same business that Kazaa is in,” says The Globe & Mail.
