Scottish solution to ‘piracy’
p2p news / p2pnet: Apparently, "industry watchdog" the British Video Association is so worried about dry-land ‘piracy’ in Scotland that it’s talked local authorities into letting it pull a truly outrageous stunt.
The idea is to, "persuade customers here to give up their dodgy DVDs," says the Daily Record, going on:
"A lorry will tour the country, giving the public the chance to hand in illegal discs to be destroyed. Those who take up the offer will be given legitimate DVDs in exchange.
"The amnesty will begin tomorrow in Edinburgh’s Castle Street before the lorry moves on to other parts of the country."
If anyone gets a picture of this, shoot it over to us here ; )

NOTE: p2pnet is being sued by Sharman Networks and Nikki Hemming, ceo of p2p application Kazaa. “The suit is a little odd, since P2PNet.net is a champion of peer-to-peer file-sharing, which is the same business that Kazaa is in,” says The Globe & Mail. All movies currently in the theaters. Trust me, my copies are actually there. Oh, just to help out, before handing them in I sanded the backs to make them unplayable, but really, the movies are there. Really.
Can I have my legit ones, now, please?
Yes, I DO have a personal proprietary technology that allows me to record DVD’s on CD blanks, and even old used ones at that. Really.
Can I have my legit versions, now, please?
How can you not believe me. Have I ever lied to you before?
