China Netcafe ‘teen’ ban

p2p news / p2pnet: Yellow warning cards have been issued to 12 netcafes Beijing who’ve, "illegally accepted teenagers into their businesses, says ChinaTechNews.

"The yellow cards are to be hung in each of the offending netcafes and each proprietor will be fined RMB15000 (just over $1,870)," it states.

The owners can ask to have the cards taken down after a month, "if an investigation proves that the respective businesses have changed their behavior," says the story, adding:

"The city initiated a 90-day special investigative action within the Internet cafe market on May 10."

NOTE: p2pnet is being sued by Sharman Networks and Nikki Hemming, ceo of p2p application Kazaa. “The suit is a little odd, since P2PNet.net is a champion of peer-to-peer file-sharing, which is the same business that Kazaa is in,” says The Globe & Mail.
