i use debian etch-beta2 on the laptop i go to school with (production computer running debian-testing)
and i reinstalled windows ~10 times (once per season. if windows crashes, theres spyware, a broken install,…)
I COULDN’T CARE LESS ABOUT THE DISCLAIMER!!
all checked, but vista is <font-size: xx-large;”><b><u>***BLOATED!!!***</u></b></div> more than mac osx
win-win only for manufacturers and m$
m$ makes hype -> people want it -> their computer doesnt support it -> buy a new computer -> buy vista
linux and radeon 9200 and 1gb ram and celeron good enough (except the celeron part – celeron sucks:
<script language=”mix of vb, asp, and java”>dim celeron as string; celeron = String(”*”,(147 * Rnd + 4)); response.write “celeron is ” & celeron</script>)
wista is worse than osx
im staying linux and xp
or <wcs>at the very worst vmwareing the RELEASE version of vista downloaded in about 2009 </wcs>

^BLOATED!
It relly looks like it is, I mean, those system requirements are outrageous. A lot of software is bloated nowadays, that’s why open source software makes more and more sense. The code is there, everyone sees it, and everyone can put the code on a diet, the result… programs that work using as little resources as possible.
After a lot of fiddling back and forth, between several versions of ACDSee, between 5 and 8, and even 8 Pro, I have finally settled on ACDSee 5.0.1.0006 (available at http://www.oldversion.com/ ) because with my AMD64 with 1GB RAM, it works pleasantly fast, whereas 8 Pro, takes no less than 6 seconds on its first cold boot to actually show its GUI, what a bloat, maybe when I have an AMD256 with 1TB of RAM, 8 Pro will move fast.

give the os a break……. if you can’t live with it then throw your computer out the door and buy yourself a AMD256 with 1TB of RAM and a graphics card [ Radeon X72000XTX crossfired or Geforce 31800 XXX quadsli'ed] all with 2-8gb vRAM…. lol
