OneWebDay in Vancouver, BC
p2p news / p2pnet: If you’re in, or you’re going to be in, Vancouver, BC, Canada, on June 15, Susan Crawford would like the pleasure of your company.
One of the OneWebDay organizers, she says she’d like to meet with anyone who’s interested in being part of a OneWebDay celebration in Vancouver on September 22.
What is OneWebDay? "It’s an Earth Day for the web," says Crawford, a cyberlaw and communications law professor in New York City.
"The idea is to make the collaborative, participatory web visible," she goes on.
"Earth Day and the environmental movement didn’t take off until we had a picture of the Earth from space, and the plan is to do the same thing for the web through a variety of projects by people all over the world – every September 22 from now on."
Go here for a FAQ and meanwhile, the June 15 Vancouver meet will run from 6pm to 7:30 pm in Room 400, Simon Fraser University, Downtown Campus, 515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC.
