MPAA gumshoes The Pirate Bay
p2p news / p2pnet: Big Six Hollydud movie moguls long ago suborned enforcement agencies around the world for routine use as corporate cops funded not by the studios, but by local tax-payers.
The Big Four Organized Music cartel gets away with the same kind of blatant abuse, but the studios are far smoother, so it comes as no surprise to learn they also use private investigators to dredge up material which can then be handed over to said police forces as evidence of supposed wrong-doing.
The most recent travesty of this type came when the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), owned by Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney, dragooned the Swedish government into closing down The Pirate Bay.
Now, "For those of you who haven’t followed the Swedish news, a quite funny (or tragic) thing has surfaced," says a TPB post.
"Apparently, on several different occasions, MPAAs Swedish lawyers hired a private eye to stalk me! This must’ve been very entertaining for the poor Tex Murphy clone doing the actual groundwork, as my daily activites can basically be summed up as "eat, sleep, work" (often on very odd hours).
"It kind of flattens me to get this level of attention from my dear pals at MPAA, and it really adds nicely to the image of them being raving lunatics (the Swedish Antipiratbyrån are calm, rational and fair in comparision!).
"Because they started it, I’m going to do some stalking of my own! Hah!
"As a starter, I’ll just note that MPAAs Swedish lawyer has forgotten to pay her bills on time on several occasions, mostly parking tickets (despite earning over $100k/year) …"

Don’t confuse Hollywood artists with wretched CEOs who wear lawsuits against children as badges of honor. Although the fact artists are completely silent makes them just as worse if not more so.

This had nothing to do with Democrats/Republicans, it has everything to do with $$$, and both parties have their hands extended to take cash from the RIAA/MPAA. This is how we wind up with crap laws like the DMCA, and after the RIAA/MPAA has dumped enough money into the politicians(again, both parties) pockets we will wind up with some kind of broadcast flag, as well as analog hole regulations. The U.S. has the very best politicians money can buy.
