Film critic sold review DVDs
p2p news / p2pnet: Ex-Boston Herald film critic Paul Sherman admits selling pre-release review DVDs, saying he was, "kind of in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Quoted by the Boston Globe, Sherman, no relation to chief RIAA chief fiction coordinator Cary Sherman, will in October be sentenced for, "aiding in copyright infringement," says the story.
He, "sold on eBay copies of DVDs he had received to review," it states, going on:
"One man who bought Sherman’s DVDs put several of them on the Internet, where they could be viewed before their commercial release."
Sherman was arrested and charged in Operation Copycat when the FBI used two fake “undercover computer servers” to fake out warez groups.
According to Hollywod’s MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), the film industry, which continues to report record revenues in the billions, is suffering from seriously diminished cash flows because of file sharers.
However, reports and studies say Hollywood insiders are behind many of the ‘leaks’.
