p2p news / p2pnet: If you can’t beat ‘em, suborn ‘em.
YouTube.com, started only in February, 2005, caught the eye of EMI, a founder-member of the Big Four Organized Music gang. EMI thinks a "commercial relationships" with the video site would, "help us remove infringing material that someone uploaded and we’re not being compensated for".
Now NBC is, "teaming with YouTube, a popular video Web site, to promote its new shows," says The New York Times.
NBC is a, "media and entertainment conglomerate formed in May 2004 by the combination of General Electric’s NBC with Vivendi Universal Entertainment, part of French Vivendi Universal," says Wikipedia.
Vivendi is also another Big Four stalwart.
"The network will create an official NBC Channel on YouTube to show clips from shows," says the NYT, adding financial details weren’t disclosed.
