The truth is that Windows 98/ME were pieces of junk. Almost every OS released since 1994 kicks the living pats out of that piece of turd Win95/98/ME operating systems. Windows 2000/XP/2003 kicked the living sh!t out of the turd of an OS that Win98/ME were and still are. What I really wanted to see is more native Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 only applications the last four years. All software and hardware makers continuing to support those piece of turd Win98/ME operating systems the last four years has hurt performance, stability, and the overall quality of softwrae and hardware the last four years,

Windows 98/ME should have died a long time ago bewcause they flat out suck. Any Windows 9X based OS sucked big time compared to almost all others released since 1994.

WHile I'm no fan of Microsoft, I applaud them on this move. The sooner those piece of sh*t Windows 98/ME opertaing systems die, the better off the whole IT industry will be.

On the other hand, some of us have found Win98 to be a "sweet spot": functional without being overly bloated; secure enough without being too restrictive; and open enough, or at least reverse-engineered enough.

I'll continue to use my Win98 until it can't do something I want it to, and at that point I'll remove the dual-boot on the computer and use only use /dev/hda2
