It happens with IRC, IMs, chat rooms, "social networking" sites, web forums, E-mail...no matter what the medium, someone distasteful will end up using it. Reports like these seem more ridiculous if used in the same context in a different way: "Street gangs, sexual predators, and normal everyday people all use talking to communicate. We need to regulate what kind of people are able to talk to others. Gang members and predators shouldn't be allowed to use talking to communicate." It's the same thing as MySpace, except it's analog instead of digital, and it even sounds absurd and stupid--because IT IS.
