Music from Space
p2p news / p2pnet: China will use music to promote its Chang’e space program.
Some 30 pieces of Chinese music will be beamed to the Earth from the country’s first lunar satellite set to launch next year, says state news agency Xinhua.
The public will be able to choose from as list of 150 possibilities suggested by the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, in a bid to increase public awareness of China’s space program.
The commission’s Lunar Probe Engineering Center is offering music from 56 ethnic groups, pop from the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong and opera soundtracks, says Xihua, adding:
The center said the public can vote on the Web sites of the TV Guide published by the country’s biggest broadcaster, CCTV, and the center before August 9. The final results will be made public in October, said the center.
