CMPDA True Confession
p2p news / p2pnet: Canadians are only too familiar with the fact the so-called CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association) is merely a clone of the so-called, and seriously mis-named, RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), owned by Sony BMG (Japan, Germany), Vivendi Universal (France), EMI (Britain) and Warner Music, the only actual American record label.
Canada also boasts the Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Association (CMPDA). But it, too, is wrongly named.
It’s now openly admitted that it, serves as the voice and advocate of the major U.S. studios of the Motion Picture Association of America.
However, we already knew that, didn’t we.
Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Association of America, anyone?
(Thanks, Russell)
