China anti-pirate deal

p2pnet.net News:- For every three counterfeit discs turned in, a company based in Nanjing, China, says it’ll hand over a real one, says China Daily, quoted by Reuters.

“The company operating the scheme, with support from the city government, was investing ’several million yuan’ in the campaign, the newspaper said, pointing out, “The latest Hollywood movies can normally be found on sale on street corners days after their official release, being sold for under $1 a piece.”

Warner Bros is now selling “selected” movies for $2.75 in major Chinese cities, “aiming to carve out a market for relatively affordable but high-quality, legitimate versions of movies in a sea of counterfeit products selling for less than a dollar”.

Meanwhile, the Big Four Organized Music labels are using their IFPI to sue Yahoo China which is said to be offering links to "illegal" music.

One Response to “China anti-pirate deal”

  1. Reader's Write Says:

“Meanwhile, the Big Four Organized Music labels are using their IFPI to sue Yahoo China which is said to be offering links to “illegal” music.”

Can we the people then sue the newspaper for all the fraudulent and defective products and services that are advertised or placed there, starting with horoscopes and medical advise by “weight loss doctors”?

Can we the people then sue the pastor of religions not my own for his/her fraudulent link to theri “illegal” God?

Can we the people then sue e-bay for linking to a seller of pirated software?

Can we also sue Google too?

Why should it be that only the Big Four Organized Music labels and other cartels be the only ones making a profit from the lawsuit racket? I say thet the racket should be made available only to the people, as owners of government and its laws that allow the racket to flourish. I say let us all exploit the lawsuit racket!
