Jessica Simpson talks to YOU
p2pnet.net News:- We missed this in yesterday’s “a low-fidelity, high-priced version of Jessica Simpson’s BMG A Public Affair is being peddled by Yahoo Music” post.
The file is supposedly DRM-free. However, as a p2pnet reader observes, “it’s a Jessica Simpson song. No wonder they ‘played down the significance of the release’.
“I’d be embarrassed to release it period. Then again, there’s no accounting for taste, mine included.”
heh
Anyhow, on the part we missed, it seems A Public Affair buyers can have their names included in the song. So says InformationWeek. But the talking Simpson tune – pity it’s not the other Simpson ;p – will cost you $2, twice the current rip-off rate for CRAP-loaded iTunes downloads.
Meanwhile, “Yahoo has not mentioned any plans to expand its DRM-free offerings and did not respond to voicemail messages Friday,” says the story, adding:
“Dave Goldberg, Yahoo vice president and general manager of music, appealed to record company executives in February to reconsider their insistence on DRM.”
