Scotty beams up for the last time

p2pnet.net OT News:-The ashes of one of British Columbia’s most famous sons will RIS (Rest In Space) this fall.

Some of Vancouver-born James Doohan’s incinerated remains were already supposed to have been drifting among the stars (”She’s supposed to have transwarp.” — Sulu, “Aye. And if my grandmother had wheels, she’d be a wagon.”) but Scotty, as he was known to fans of the Star Trek TV series, remained earthbound due to a fire on Houston-based Space Services Inc stoped the projected launch.

The next lift-off is slated for October 21, says the Canadian Press.

With Scotty as he beams up for the last time will be ashes of former NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper.

If you know someone who’d like to be alongside Doohan on a “post-cremation memorial spaceflight, options include a charge of $495 US for one gram of ashes, adds CP.
