Xbox 360 Pro price cut?
p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft is planning to cut the Xbox 360 Pro System retail from $400 to $300 to compete with the PlayStation 3 (PS3), slated for launch by Sony in November.
At least, that’s what Taiwan-based OEM component makers, quoted by Digi Times, say.
But Microsoft, “will not adjust prices of its Xbox 360 game console this year in response to the scheduled release of Sony Corp’s PlayStation 3 in November,” states Bloomberg News categorically.
“We have no plans to cut the price of Xbox 360 before the end of this year,” it has Freda Lee, a spokeswoman for Microsoft in Taiwan stating. “‘There’s no schedule yet’ for cutting prices.”
However, against that, Microsoft also dismissed reports that it was about to launch a device to compete with Apple’s iPod, only to announce its Zune player soon after.
