p2pnet Freedom of Speech events
p2pnet.net News:- Kazaa ceo Nikki Hemming is currently suing me and p2pnet for alleged libel and I’m writing this in Toronto.
I’m here for the Freedom of Online Speech round table at the Centre for Social Innovation, 215 Spadina Avenue, Suite 120, today between 3 and 5 pm, which will be followed by a fund-raising concert at the famous Rivoli dinner and dance club on Queen Street West, and close to the round table venue. The benefit starts at 9:00 pm.
Yesterday, Neil Leyton and I were interviewed on CHUM, CIUT (University of Toronto) and CKLN (Ryerson University) radio and I’ll be posting mp3s on all three, as well as the round table discussion, on p2pnet when I get back home to Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
Neil is an indie musician, performer and activist who also owns Fadingways Music. He organized the benefit, which’ll feature Kobo Town, Neil, Lindy, Aceface and Dennis O’Toole,.
If you’re in Toronto, it’d be great to see you at one of the events or, even better, both of them.
And if you make it, find me and say Hi
Cheers! And all the best …
Jon

The group that attended the event at 3 seemed to be quite excited, and the time extended a bit accordingly.
The bands in the evening were awsome — great mixture of types of music, with Jon singing a song himself after he went up to explain what the issue was.
Great time had by all.

I missed Jon singing!?!!
That would have been worth driving from Tampa, even at today’s gas prices!
