‘Legal file sharing’ petition

p2pnet.net News:- Click The Vote founder John Parres wants you to sign a petition in support of legal file sharing.

"Millions and millions of people cannot be felons," he says, "and this petition gives everyone a way to express support for legal file sharing that rewards creators. People should not have to live in fear of lawsuits and bankruptcy for sharing their collective culture."

Parres calls on, "the world’s creators, entertainment executives, peer-to-peer sharing software programmers and Internet Service Providers to create fair, equitable and reasonable systems for legal P2P sharing.

"If those parties can’t do it on their own, the petition then calls upon the world’s elected representatives to enact new laws that conform to the abilities and limitations of technology so that creators will be compensated and music fans will be free from abusive law suits and unwarranted criminal charges."

Agree most definitely. Come on people. We are allowed to have a differing opinion still. Things haven’t come to the point where big business completely dominates even our thoughts!

I agree with anonymous. We should be able to download media off of the computer. What is next. Will they ban the use of VHS and DVD downloads of Soap Opera’s, or a movie you are going to miss on TV. If we let people get away with this, we are giving up alot of right, and I’m not willing to do that.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

File sharing should be legal. I’m willing to pay a small fee, on a per-download basis, to keep it that way, if necessary.
