But this time, he’ll be trekking in a game.

Bethesda Softworks‘ Star Trek: Legacy is in development for both the Xbox 360 and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

Slated to launch this fall, it has players as the Admiral of a task force of warships in real-time combat featuring more that 60 spaceships and full damage modeling in multiplayer mode with friends online, or flying alone.

Nor will Kirk be alone. Other Trek senior officers will provide voiceovers, the first time the five actors will have crewed in a single Star Trek project together.

The new Star Trek will feature:

William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk from the STAR TREK: The Original Series – 1966-1969
Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard from STAR TREK: The Next Generation – 1987-1994
Avery Brooks as Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko from STAR TREK: Deep Space Nine –1993-1999
Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway from STAR TREK: Voyager – 1995-2001
Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer in STAR TREK: Enterprise – 2001-2005
