it is a dud.. it doesn’t have a download speed of more than 0kb/s even though it has hundreds of peers

of course, people should stay away from unknown, unconfirmed files, but there are usually a few who know what they’re doing and what to look for, and who would be able to investigate this properly.

movie and music cartels have often fed fake files into p2p networks, with faked and bloated seed/download ratios, to try and deter people.

it doesn’t work.

so why wouldn’t a game or software company do the same? as mentioned, the files of this game are of different sizes and varying titles. they’re probably all fakes submitted by the maker or an agent of the firm.

if someone can confirm what the files are, the questions will be answered.

Of course, If I went to Torrentspy for something legit ( very Possible ), and never would have downloaded that game if it hadn’t
been offered so prominently, that might qualify.
Since the judges are industry paid puppets though, it would be
a tougher sell.

technically, that wouldn’t qualify as entrapment. Entrapment only applies if you wouldn’t have committed the crime had you not been convinced by the other party to commit it. Granted copyright infringement isn’t a “crime”, the same idea applies. If you’re on torrentspy downloading PC games, and you happen to get caught, then you have to reap what you sow

What stinks at TorrentSpy are the ads and the stupid ShoutCast crap they plaster all over the front page.
