BPI evicts 12-year-old
p2pnet.net News:- Twelve-year-old Amy Thomas was one of 10 finalists chosen for a ‘My Music chart’ that launches in October across 1,400 English schools.
But Big Four Organized Music cartel ‘trade’ organization the BPI has angrily ruled she isn’t eligible.
Why? Because she’s signed to Flowerburger Records, the indie label which attacked the UK British music industry for suing fans who use p2p networks.
“Amy and a ‘flash mob’ of 50 children gathered outside of the office of the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for 15 minutes holding balloons with messages of support for the young singer,” says The Inquirer, going on:
“This minor music industry spat would have gone unnoticed but for Amy writing about it on Bebo, a social networking website for school kids, whose members are now encouraging each other to boycott the My Music chart in favour of Amy’s debut single, Just Smile, which is released the same week as the schools’ chart.
Asked if she thinks it’s OK to download, “”All my friends do it”, she story has her saying.
“It just seems like the natural thing to do”
