AOL wants spammer’s gold
p2pnet.net News:- AOL’s search for buried spammer’s gold must be stopped, say Hyman and Peggy Greenbaum.
“In May 2005, AOL won a $12.8 million lawsuit against Davis Wolfgang Hawke and two other men who AOL says made millions by targeting AOL members with spam offers for everything from penile implants and spying software to diet pills, according to court documents,” says CNET News. Soon afterwards, Hawke, a reputed member of a neo-Nazi group, disappeared, says the story.
He was born Andrew Britt Greenbaum and, “changed his name to hide his Jewish heritage, according to his mother, who says she thinks he’s in Belize,” it says.
But AOL aims to collect, “even if that means digging for gold on Hawke’s parents’ property in Medfield, Mass., located about 22 miles southwest of Boston.”
“We don’t have an attorney,” Peggy Greenbaum told CNET “. My husband is writing an objection, and I’m writing an objection to searching our property and also the interior of house – any kind of search. Not that we’re hiding anything; it’s just that we haven’t been a part of any of Britt’s spamming activities.”
However, the story adds, in April a US district court judge granted a motion giving AOL the right to any property that Hawke left with his parents or his grandparents.
Now, “AOL plans to use sophisticated sonar and radar detection to determine if there is anything of significance on the property they search.”

I’m sure his parents feel bad about what their son did, do not drag them into it too.

I would suggest to the Greenbaum’s that they day before AOL shows up with shovels, they have a nearby diary farm deliver several truck loads of fresh cow manure, have it spread all over their yards and plant a large sign in it. Then they can go to Cape Cod for a couple of days.
When AOL shows up, they’ll be greeted by a stinking pile of BS and a sign saying, “Dig if you must.”
