SanDisk takes on Apple
p2pnet.net News:- SanDisk has gone up against Apple with a $250, flash-based, eight-gig digital music player able to hold 2,000 songs.
The Sansa e280 calso has a slot allowing memory expansion of up to 10 GB (2,500 songs), it says.
SanDisk recently launched an add campaign featuring a grotesque ‘Lil’ Monsta,’ created to take a bite out of Apple.
“The Milpitas technology company also slashed prices for three related MP3 players,” says The San Francisco Chronicle, “the 2 GB Sansa e250 dropped from $179.99 to $139.99, the 4 GB e260 from $229.99 to $179.99 and the 6 GB e270 from $279.99 to $219.99.”
With an FM radio tuner and integrated microphone, the e280 will play expensive songs from corporate download applications built around Microsoft’s Windows Media DRM (Digital Restrictions Management) technology but not of course, iTunes.
