Hostway Services had 65,000 IP's null routed last week causing major outages for some major sites, including Wikipedia. This was due to hostway not paying cogent and cogent null routed them on a friday right before closing their billing department for the weekend. As i said, thousands were affected, including my own web server. My hosting company was forced to either wait till the weekend or change our IP blocks off of a hostway owned BGP route.

man did it suck too! My site was down for well into 12 hours. Wikipedia came online much quicker because apparently people must read their encyclopedias and a shit fit was made so cogent turned back on their IP . Leaving everyone to fend for themselves.
