Make Fair Play play fair
p2pnet.net News:- “DRM man, it’s like a freaking mobiüs strip of customer hurt.”
So says Ryan Block in his Engadget write-up of QTFairUse which, “looks like it can now be used (with some amount of difficulty) to dump iTunes version 6.0.4 – 6.0.5 files of their chastely protection.”
It’s not quite as slick as FairUse4WM, “but if you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty with a little python up in this piece, you can get yours now,” says Block. If not, “it shouldn’t be too long before our man Igor S.’s next-gen method for circumventing Apple’s copy protection methods makes its way into a nice, neat little graphical interface all the Macs in the house are sure to adore”.
Meanwhile, “isn’t it just way easier to download from iTunes, burn to CD, then rip into unprotected WMA?” – wonders oven in an Engadget post.

Come on now! One of the problems with DRM is that when someone cracks it, it gets replaced. So all these cracking efforts are futile, much more of a proof of concept than anything really practical. What you have to do is DON’T BUY DRMed CONTENT.

And, as fast as they replace it, it gets cracked again.
Best option,
Don’t buy DRM content .. very true.
But, it will be cracked again, and again, and again, no
matter how much cash they throw ( wasted ) at it.
They spend big bucks o protect .. it get s cracked for free
Which makes more economic sense ??
That should tell you,
It’s not about them losing cash, it’s about control.
Why else would they waste so much money on something that WILL
be hacked.
