Microsoft Vista pricing: II
p2pnet.net News:- Yesterday, Microsoft Canada “accidentally” released Canadian pricing for Vista.
Today comes news that the “basic” version for home users is available for pre-order from Amazon.com at $200, and $100 for the upgrade. And there’s also a special ‘pirate’ category, it would appear ;p
But it’s “too premature to comment” on final pricing or availability, The Seattle Times has the company saying.
Vista and another huge Microsoft product, Office 2007, will be released January 30, according to Amazon.
The story says other Amazon prices include; Business new, $300; upgrade from Windows XP, $200; Home Premium new, $240; upgrade, $160; and, Ultimate new, $400; upgrade, $260.
“In what could be a move to cut down on software piracy, Microsoft appears to be offering ‘additional’ licenses, at a discount, for people who would buy a separate copy of the software for each computer in the home, for example,” adds The Seattle Times.
Meanwhile, Microsoft Canada suggested pricing would be Windows Vista Ultimate, $C500, Home Premium, $C300, Ultimate Upgrade, $C300 and Home Premium Upgrade, $C200.
