UK ‘violent porn’ ban
p2pnet.net News:- Possession of “extreme and violent pornography” in Britain is to become a criminal offence punishable by up to three years in jail.
“The action is a victory for the family of Jane Longhurst, a 31-year-old Brighton teacher murdered in 2003 by a man obsessed with viewing necrophilia Web sites, who have campaigned to block access to such material in the UK,” says Reuters.
Her mother and daughter, Sue, helped organise a petition with 50,000 signatures, “objecting to extreme Web sites which was presented to parliament and won the backing of a number of MPs,” says the story, adding:
“The new law would outlaw any material that featured violence that was, or appeared to be, life-threatening or likely to result in serious and disabling injury.”

didn’t stop people from drinking, and those drinkers, well most of them, were mentally sane. What makes UK auth* think this is going to prevent metally insane people from getting their gross material requirements satisfied.
