Facebook revamps revamp
p2pnet.net News:- Facebook says it consists of networks, or groups of people who can see each other’s profile. It takes in colleges, high schools, workplaces and geographic regions and recently launched News Feed to high-light changes people make to their personal profile pages.
But users hit the roof saying the Facebook facelift called too much attention to personal information, forcing the site to revise the revamp.
“We want people to know we messed up,” The Washington Post has Facebook chairman and ceo Mark Zuckerberg saying and, “Zuckerberg said he planned to personally write a letter and post it on Facebook apologizing for not being more explicit about the new feature and explaining that users will now have greater control over what information will be automatically displayed on friends’ pages,” says the story.
“People’s privacy and feeling like they have control over information is really important for the site,” he said.
Facebook users typically visit their friends’ profiles to check for personal updates or messages, but, “News Feed automatically zaps the information to all of a user’s approved friends, whether a message is intended for them or not,” says The Chicago Tribune.
“The feature also shows the time a profile was updated or when someone added a new friend.”
