Samsung site hosts ‘crimeware’
p2pnet.net News:- Websense Security Labs says Samsung Telecom US site has for some time been hosting directories and files able to install what it calls “crimewar” – malicious code .
“The most current code, which is still available for download, is a Trojan Horse that attempts to disable anti-virus programs, modify registry keys, download additional files, and log keystrokes when connecting to banking websites,” says Websense.
It goes on that so far, no one seems to have exploited the code, “that attempts to trigger a download of the file without user interaction”.
Samsung Telecom is hosting, “and most likely distributing,” files to users, “who are lured through Instant Messaging or email links,” adds Websense.
