The WIPO broadcast treaty would be just another layer to the already confusing copyright laws and layer upon layer of jurisprudence in many jurisdictions. In the end no one (including lawyers) will know of, let alone understand the laws and everyone will be suing everyone and everyone will be "infringers" and primeval judges will continue to repeat without thinking that ignorance is no excuse.

Its about time to reduce and simplify copyright, not add layers of confusing rights that do not promote greatest creation and diffusion of quality created works, the proper basic objectives of copyright laws.

I think we all agree, that technology is taking us to a point, where everyone will be broadcasting as their primary means of communication. The WIPO treaty is counting on it, and is looking to the day when all communications are controlled through one distribution channel. It will be up to folks like p2pnet.net to make sure p2p communication remains free. Good luck, and keep up the fine work.
