HP’s Dunn has a new job
p2pnet.net News:- Hewlett-Packard boss Patricia Dunn said she wasn’t about to quit after it was revealed HP paid to have reporters’ phone records hacked, and it would seem she’s true to her word.,
However, in what amounts to a demotion, in January next year she’ll ‘resign’ her post as chairwoman to become a non-executive director and, “She apologised for the unorthodox investigation of other boardmembers, which included hiring undercover consultants who posed as journalists,” says the BBC.
Chief executive Mark Hurd will take over as chairman and, “The US House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee has ordered HP to hand over records related to its internal inquiry into boardroom leaks,” says the story, adding:
“California and US authorities have been investigating whether any laws were broken during the investigation.”
Last week, “Ms Dunn said she had no idea of the tactics to which private investigators would resort, adding she was ‘appalled’ that journalists had been targeted,” adds the BBC.
