Nintendo WII due December 2
p2pnet.net News:- More bad news for Sony, still feeling the fall-out produced by the recall of millions of its dangerous lithium batteries, used by Apple and Dell.
Nintendo will have its Wii (prounced ‘wee’) games unit on sale by December 2, and for for 25,000 yen (about $213), and less than half the retail price of Sony’s delayed 20-gig PlayStation 3, slated for November 11 at 62,790 yen (about $534), says Mainichi News.
Moreover, says the story, “Unlike the latest game consoles that feature high-tech games, Wii will allow customers to wave wireless remote-control handsets like rackets to enjoy the physical effects of various games.
“Nintendo aims to ship 6 million units by the end of the current fiscal year that ends in March next year, according to officials.”
Hold-ups in the commercial production of blue laser, key for Sony’s PS3 Blu-ray optical disc drive, were behind schedule, “forcing the delay in Europe and other regions including Australasia,” although the Japan and North American launches apparently aren’t affected.
Meanwhile, it’s been observed that in “large swathes of the English-speaking world, including the UK,” having a wee means taking a leak., and in Scotland and Ireland it means diminutive.
