More MySpace.com crime
p2pnet.net News:- Twenty-two-year-old Heather Michelle Kane has been arrested after allegedly trying to hire someone to murder a woman whose photo appeared on her boy-friend’s MySpace.com page.
She was booked Tuesday, “for investigation of conspiracy to commit murder,” says the Associated Press.
Kane met an undercover Mesa, Arizona, detective, gave him $400 and offered to pay an additional $100 after the woman had been killed, according to court records, says the story, adding:
“The records say Kane gave the undercover officer photographs taken from her boyfriend’s social networking Web page of the woman she wanted killed. She also requested a photo of the woman’s dead body.”
In another case, a Bridgeport, Connecticut, man has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl he met on Myspace.com.
“Bienvenido Garcia, 19, was arrested Wednesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force,” says AP, going on, “Police said the alleged victim’s mother had turned over to police 16 pages of computer correspondence between her daughter and Garcia from the Web site.
“The girl said on a number of occasions Garcia had come into her room, pinned her on her bed and raped her, police said.”

I think in all probability the “rape” is actually a case of bad judgement on the part of a 19 year old for having sex with someone who wasn’t mature enough to make good decisions, who then claimed not to have really wanted it when confronted by her mom, who was of course all too willing to believe her daughter wasn’t really a horny teenager who would screw anything that moves.
Of course, this is not to say it couldn’t have been forcible, but I would put money on my description’s being true. Lots of money. Unfortunately whether it’s true or not this poor asshole is gonna go to jail, where odds are that he will be forcibly raped (rather than just making up stories to get out of trouble with *his* mom) by some guy named Bubba.
My sister at 12 was screwing a 17 year old she met online and it sure as heck wasn’t rape. It wouldn’t have made any difference to her if he was 19, and if my dad had been a little more annoyed about it (he talked about calling the cops several times) and if my sister cared at all about what her parents thought I’m sure the guy would have gone to jail even though there was never any force involved, and you’d all have been reading about a 17 year old “raping” a 12 year old.
BTW, this was back in the BBS days, long before MySpace. MySpace is just that much more widely used and obvious. The moral of the story is that when you bring horny teenagers together with other horny teens and young adults, sex will happen. And when sex involves emotionally immature people of any age, rape accusations will happen, regardless of whether any force was actually involved. It’s sad, and the only way around it is to avoid having sex with immature people, of *any* age, though at least when they’re closer to your age you’ll get a little more benefit of the doubt.
