Apple, Cingular, cell phone deal
2pnet.net News:- A deal between Apple and Cingular will make America’s largest cell phone provider the exclusive carrier of Apple’s iPhone, says Think Secret.
Still on track for an early 2007, Apple’s phone will feature a candy-bar design with a 2.2-inch display and 3 megapixel camera, says the story, going on that “robust” iTunes and iSync support will be included.
“Apple’s exclusive contract with Cingular is said to be good for the first six months, sources report, meaning other providers will be able to sell the phone in the second-half of 2007,” says Think Secret, adding:
“Sources say Apple is in talks with providers in other parts of the world on exclusive deals, but are short on specifics.”
Meanwhile, according to AppleInsider, “American Technology Research this week said it has removed Apple Computer from its ‘Focus List’ out of concern that investors may have baked too much cell phone optimism into the company’s current share price.”
